During a game where my daughter was pitching, this young lady using a rolled bat hit a ball back at my daughter and hit her in the face. While we attended to my child on the field, the dad grabbed this bat and took off running to his car and spead off.
He knew that we could not prove which bat was used once he left the field. Others on this site will now chime in and comment about how it is fine. Greatly missed by so many! The Uncoach.

I've seen nothing to make me believe rolling does anything that a lot of use wouldn't accomplish, just faster and more efficient. However, it is generally considered "altering" a bat and, thus, illegal. From a more practical point, though, unlike shaving a bat, nothing about the bat is altered in a way that you could tell it was rolled. You can't see the effects and there is no test.
No way you could tell. When bat rolling first showed up, it was quite common for people to charge for bat rolling and do nothing more than receive your bat in the mail, hold it for a couple of days, and send it back.
It should feel very light and easy to swing for him. We suggest a break in period of to hits of a soft toss or a tee. Rotate the bat a quarter of a inch, to ensure an even break in and always use real, leather baseballs. My son is 5 foot tall, lbs and 9 years old. He is a very strong kid. It was an Easton except it was a YB11S1. He really liked it. Is it still available or is this the replacement and what might be the difference if the YB11S1 isn't available?
The new YB13S1 is basically the same bat, only it features a more durable composite in the handle. Even an opposing coach commented on how dead the bat sounds.

The Easton XL1 is an end loaded bat and is better suited for a power hitter. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 28" 16 oz. He is 8 years old. He makes solid contact but we are looking for something to give him more power. He is swinging a 29" 16 oz. Easton Rival now. Yet, I would recommend the XL-Series if you are trying to add some power to his contact.
